6.Prostatitis ( inflammation of prostate)

Prostatitis is inflammation of prostate. The prostate gland is part of the male reproductive system, and it is a walnut-sized gland found in men that is located below the bladder and in front of the rectum. It surrounds the urethra, the tube through which urine and semen exit the body. Its main function is to produce seminal fluid in order to transport sperm through the urethra.

In Ayurveda,prostitis is under the title of Mootrakrichhra which means dysuria.

Disturbance of Apan vayu causes problems in uirnation. In ayurveda , Mootrakrichhra which has been classified various types

  1. Vataj Mootrakruchhra is marked by severe pains in pelvic region and obstructed urination.
  2. Pittaj Mootrakrichhra shows severe burning micturition with reddish or yellowish urine.
  3. Kaphaj Mootrakrichhra shows by swelling and heaviness in pelvic region and sticky urine.
  4. Sannipatik Mootrakrichhra is caused by vitiation of all three doshas and therefore mixed characteristics.

  • Pain in the pelvis and genital area

Causes:

According to modern science, prostatitis is caused by various bacterial or fungal infections, chemicals, radiations or injuries.

According to ayurveda mootrakrichhra causes due to Increased intake of imbalanced diet or over eating i.e. heavy,spicy,sour food like urad, rajma and over physical activities or a sedentary lifestyle causes impairment of Apana Vata (vat dosha type).
