2.Eczema (Khaj-Khujli)

Eczema (Khaj-Khujli) is a skin diseases Where patches of skin become inflamed, itchy, red, cracked, and rough. Eczema is also called DERMATITIS or Vicharchika. According to Ayurveda Eczema is a condition where the skin has red rashes, bumps with profuse discharge, intense itching and  blue discoloration. Some others also notify painful, dry and mild to moderate itching lesions.

The most common type of eczema is atopic dermatitis. It is an allergic condition that makes your skin dry and itchy. It is most common in babies and children.

According to Ayurveda, Eczema or Vicharchika is caused by incompatible foods and lifestyle, which leads to improper digestion and enhance Pitta Dosha. Pitta dosh enter in the skin and causes accumulation of heating toxins known as Ama. These AMA accumulate in body tissues and contaminating them at a deep skin layer and causing Eczema. 

  • Redness on skin
  • Dry and flaky skin
  • Rough and thickened skin
  • Itchy blisters
  • Inflammation of skin
  • Dark colored patches of skin
  • Oozing or crusting


Excessive consumption of incompatible foods like cold &hot food, salty, spicy, sour, fermented or fried, late night dinners, excessive exercise and stress can be responsible for causing eczema. Excessive intakes of tea, coffee, cold drink,alcoholic beverages. Environmental factors like soaps, detergents, shampoos, disinfectants, juices from fresh fruits.dus particles, pets, pollens grains, fungi, viruses, very hot or cold climate, high and low humidity, more sweating during exercise.

Ayurvedic Medicine for Fever, Diet & Lifestyle:
  • Avoid all type of milk sweets, Jaggery, alcohol ,incompatible foods, sour and spicy foods or food that are difficult to digest
  • Avoid taking cold bath immediately after exercise or when the body is hot and suppressing the urge to vomit.
Avoid exposure to cold wind and hot wind and vice versa and avoid all type causes which responsible for allergy

Home Remedy:
  • Decoction of 20 -30 Neem leaves and 10 gm rhizome of Haldi boiled in about 2 glass of water then cool it and use this water to wash the affected area.
