Mineral Compounds
Bhasmas are preparations in which metals after purification are calcined to their oxide or sulphide form while pishtis are preparations in which they are treated with rose water and dried,purification of metal is one of the important features and the quality of Bhasms & Pishtis very much depends on the purification of these metals as the impure metal are sure to induce certain disease or morbid symptoms.
At Baidyanath purification of these metals is done strictly according to the Ayurvedic literature. For example, in thye process of manufacture of Bhasmas only cowdung cakes are used for the heating purpose and that is why Baidyanath Bhashmas and Pishtis are the product of quality and find their way in the market with great ease. But in some cases we confine ourselves also to such modes of preparation which have been found suitable from our long standing experience. Baidyanath uses only such ingredients which have stood to a close scrutiny.

Kupipakwa Rasayan
Kupipakwa Rasayans are preparations obtained from purified Mercury and Sulphur in fire proof bottles with Valuka yantras by a special process. These Rasayans are generally administered with honey, ghee, butter, etc. as Anupam directed by Ayurvedic Physican. |

Herbomineral Compounds
Ras Rasayans are preparations containing purified Mercury & Sulphur with other Herbal Ingredients. As the compound a Ras Rasayana is called kajjali. Ras Rasayanas are generally made into pills to faciliate the proportion of dose.
Much care is taken in mixing of these substances which are purified before the use. The dose marked for each such preparation is perfectly harmless and can be taken with utmost safety.
Ras Rasayan are generally taken with quath, milk, honey or water as anupan(vehicle) or an adjuvant. Details of the anupan or adjuvants according to the need have been given in the directions enclosed with each medicine separately.
Ras Rasayanasthough harmless are always advised to be taken under the medical advice & special instructions wherver advised should strictly be followed. Baidyanath Ras Rasayanas are more efficacious and dependable.These can be used without any hesitations. |

Pills and Tablets
Bati or Goli are small spherical bodies intended to be swallowed whole by chewing or without chewing. They are prepared from powders, extracts & other medicinal agents mixed with water, honey or guggulu. Pills are widely used among all the categories because they provide a convenient method for administering. They retain their activities for a longer & since they are in compact form, they are convenient to carry. Generally administered with water,honeyor any other preparation suggested by an Ayurvedic Physician. |

Compounds of Mercury And Sulphur
Parpaties are preparation consisting of kajjali(prepared from Mercury and Sulphur) and ghee with other Bhasmas.Parpaties are normally administered in the morning before meals and in the evening after meals but they can be given in the day time also if needed, looking to the disease or as advised by the physician. |

Powders of Plants
The dry substances such as roots, leaves or barks of fresh plants are reduced to fine powders & mixed together to form churnas.Churnas are easily administerable specially in the case of children where they cannot swallow tablets or capsules.the efficacy of churnas depends on the use of fresh & genuine herbs & their careful compounding. Utmost care is taken in Baidyanath to maintain quality.
Churnas in general are taken on empty stomach in the morning. But those which act as an appetiser are taken after meals while those indcated for clearing the bowels should be taken ar bed time. Churnas are most commonly taken with ghee, honey or milk. Water is a general "Anupam", where no other direction is given. |

Roots, leaves or barks of plants are cut into pieces & mixed with water,honey,sugar & then mixture is allowed to ferment in air-tight vats.Asavas are medicated sprituous praparations. Action varies according to the ingredients. The Asavas though sprituous preparations are mild & effective. The essential parts of fresh drugs are at first boiled in water and then mixed with honey,sugar etc & are kept in jars like Asavas to form Arishtas.arishtas are stronger than asavas. They are similar to Asavas in action & use. |

Kwaths are decotion obtained after boiling the herbs in water. Thus they contain water, soluble substances and are powerful than churnas. They are easily assimilated in the system.
Generally Kwaths are prescribed as Anupan(Vehicle) of the drug and are free from alcohol. |
